A wild adventure for St Nicholas Early Education Singleton

St Nicholas Early Education Singleton’s preschool learners embarked on an enriching adventure to Hunter Valley Wildlife Park, marking a first-of-its-kind excursion for the centre.

Zoo 6

The thoughtfully designed experience by the centre’s educators provided a series of tailored and enriching learning opportunities, including:

Hands-on learning: Through in-person observation and interaction, the children grew their knowledge and appreciation for the intricacies of the various species they saw.

Science and nature education: Learning about lifestyles, habitats, diets, and behaviours thanks to the zookeepers fostered curiosity and increased knowledge of the world around them and their place within it.

Conservation awareness: Witnessing the passion of the zookeepers and understanding the importance and impact of conservation to protect wildlife ignited environmental stewardship and responsibility.

Social and emotional development: Sharing experiences and reflections during their picnic lunch helped develop social skills and emotional intelligence, as they communicated their observations, learnings and feelings about the day’s activities.

This excursion was more than just a fun outing; it was an enriching educational experience that brought the wonders of the animal kingdom to life for St Nicholas Early Education Singleton’s preschool group, building their conservation and wildlife awareness.
