About the program

The Early Childhood CONNEX program sees Macquarie Community College, in partnership with St Nicholas Pathways, deliver an innovative and blended program of onsite (face-to-face), online and workplace-based training that leads to a nationally accredited entry-level qualification (CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care*).

How does it work? 
  • 3 days on-campus/workplace + 4 hours online per week over 12 months 
  • Combination of face-to-face, online and workplace-based learning at a St Nicholas Early Education centre and/or St Nicholas OOSH service 
  • Maitland or Muswellbrook-based locations 
  • Students may be eligible for subsidies under NSW
    Smart and Skilled Entitlement training programs
Am I eligible for fee-free enrolment?

For learners to be enrolled FEE-FREE under NSW Government’s JobTrainer initiative, they must be:

  • 16 years old or over
  • No longer at school
  • Living or working in NSW
  • An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.

And be one (or more) of the following:

  • A job seeker. This includes someone who is unemployed, on income support payments. or expected to become unemployed
  • A young person (including school leavers) aged 16-24, regardless of employment status
  • A NSW veteran and their recognised partner or spouse
  • Any individual (including an employed person) seeking fee-free* training in specific full and part qualifications in aged care, childcare, disability care, digital skills or Training and Assessment (TAE).

*Training provided by Macquarie Community College (RTO ID: 90033). 
NSW learners may be eligible for subsidies under NSW Smart and Skilled Entitlement training programs. 
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. 
Unit/s will be delivered by an agent under a third-party arrangement.

Submit a booking request for Before and After School Care or Vacation Care. One of our friendly team members will be in touch as soon as possible.

Please note:

  • Submitting a booking request or enquiry does not constitute a confirmed booking. No booking is confirmed until you have received email confirmation from St Nicholas.

  • For casual and Vacation Care bookings, we have a 5-day cancellation policy, after which the parent/carer will be liable for their full fees for that session. For permanent bookings, we have a 2-week cancellation policy.

  • One-off cancellations for permanent bookings still require the parent/carer to pay their full fees for that session, unless the cancellation is permanent, in which case the family will forfeit their permanent place for that session.
