Our St Nicholas Christmas Giving Tree is here, bringing our community together to share joy with children, families and people experiencing hardship through CatholicCare.
Inspired by the generosity of our namesake, St Nicholas, and our Catholic call to care for others, our Giving Tree is expanding its support this year. Donations will help provide Christmas gifts for children in CatholicCare’s out-of-home care programs and support food programs, including community kitchens.
Together with CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning, we invite families, team members and our wider community to share the joy of giving by donating online before Thursday 10 December 2026.
Inspired by our namesake
Our namesake, St Nicholas, is remembered for helping others. His example inspires us to share the joy of giving with our community.
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Catholic faith calls us to love our neighbour and recognise the dignity of every person. Our Christmas Giving Tree is one way we can put that care into practice.
It is also an opportunity for children to experience kindness and generosity through sharing, helping and thinking of others.
How your donation can help
Through our partnership with CatholicCare, your generosity will help provide care and practical support where it is most needed this Christmas.
This may include:
- Gifts chosen around children’s wishes and interests, helping CatholicCare purchase Christmas presents for children supported by its out-of-home care programs.
- Meals and assistance through community kitchens, supporting people and families experiencing hardship.
This year, please donate online rather than bringing a physical gift. Monetary donations give CatholicCare greater flexibility to direct support across its Christmas programs and services.
If you are able to give, donations of any amount are welcome.
A chance for every child to take part
Giving Trees will be located at our St Nicholas Early Education centres, where children can decorate an ornament to hang on the tree or take home.
Our St Nicholas OOSH communities are also invited to join the campaign. Children can participate in a Christmas giving art experience at their service, and families can donate online.
Participation is voluntary. Every child is welcome to join these experiences, whether or not their family makes a donation. They offer opportunities to talk about kindness, generosity and the many ways we can care for others.
Help us share the joy of giving
To contribute, visit our campaign page linked below. Please donate by Thursday 10 December 2026 to give CatholicCare time to allocate support ahead of Christmas.
