How did St Nicholas OOSH rest and reset for 2026

St Nicholas OOSH Summer Vacation Care recently wrapped up across 23 services, offering primary school children a vibrant mix of experiences designed to help them rest and recharge during the school holiday period.

From water play and science experiments to creative arts and community excursions, our educators delivered programs that were more than just fun – they were thoughtfully designed to support and grow the learning and interests of our OOSHies through hands-on experiences.

Here’s what they focused on:

  • Exploration and adventure: Children embraced hands‑on activities such as bushwalks, obstacle courses and nature‑based challenges. These experiences encouraged curiosity, teamwork and problem‑solving skills that support confidence and independence as children grow through their primary years.
  • Creativity and imagination: Art, drama, construction and STEM‑inspired activities gave children opportunities to express themselves, collaborate with peers and explore new interests. These experiences help build communication skills, flexible thinking and emotional awareness – all essential for primary‑aged learners.
  • Community and belonging: Excursions, group games and shared projects helped children strengthen friendships and feel connected to their local community. Our educators intentionally fostered inclusive, supportive environments where every child felt welcome and valued.
