Equipping OOSH leaders to lead with purpose

Across the Out of School Hours (OOSH) sector, there is a growing focus on strengthening leadership capability to ensure services are well positioned to meet evolving regulatory, educational and community expectations.

Diploma Students

At St Nicholas OOSH, investing in the ongoing professional development of our people is recognised as essential to maintaining high-quality education and care environments. As part of this commitment, St Nicholas OOSH is partnering with Karben Training Solutions to support five Nominated Supervisors to complete their Diploma of School Age Education and Care.

About Karben Training Solutions

Karben Training Solutions is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) dedicated to delivering high-quality, practical training for the education and care sector.

With a strong focus on early childhood and Outside School Hours Care, Karben partners with organisations to support educators at every stage of their professional journey. Their approach is grounded in real-world practice, offering flexible and accessible learning pathways that enable educators to build their capabilities while remaining connected to their roles and communities.

Through its commitment to industry relevance and educator support, Karben Training Solutions continues to play an important role in strengthening workforce capability and supporting quality outcomes across the sector.

Responding to Sector Needs and Building Leadership

OOSH services operate in increasingly complex and dynamic environments. Educators and leaders are required to balance compliance, curriculum delivery, child safety and meaningful engagement with families and school communities.

Within this context, Nominated Supervisors play a critical leadership role, ensuring the day-to-day operation of services aligns with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and reflects best practice.

Undertaking the Diploma of School Age Education and Care will support five of our Nominated Supervisors to further develop their leadership skills and strengthen their capability in critical thinking, reflective practice and evidence-based decision-making – qualities that underpin high-quality service delivery.

At St Nicholas OOSH, we recognises the importance of providing access to formal qualifications and partnering with quality training providers to support educator growth. This new partnership is a valued extension of our investment to support our teams in accessing high quality professional learning opportunities that strengthen their capabilities in becoming confident and capable leaders.

We’re proud to support the professional journey of our educators looking to take the next step in their career at St Nicholas OOSH.
