‘Decorate Your Space’ is the evolution of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle’s highly successful ‘Decorate Your Gate’ initiative, which was held as part of National Child Protection Week in 2022 and 2023.
Our communities can still decorate their gate if they choose, or they can decorate their fence, wall, door, desk, or floor – the only limit is your imagination!
We can’t wait to see all the entries!

What else is happening?
The National Child Protection Week webpage on the Office of Safeguarding’s website has been updated with several new resources to support our communities. These include:
- Children’s Activity Booklet
- Activity ideas for early learning centres and schools
- Ideas for staff and professional development
- Information regarding free webinars hosted by NAPCAN
These resources are designed to equip children, families, and staff and children with the skills and strategies to identify, respond to, and seek assistance in a range of unsafe situations. Please feel free to explore these resources and share them with your friends and communities.
