St Nicholas is delighted to announce the appointment of Mel Hill as its new Director.

Mel brings more than 30 years of experience in the early childhood education and care sector. She began her career as an Early Childhood Teacher before moving into Centre Director, senior management, and executive leadership roles across large not-for-profit organisations.

Most recently, Mel was General Manager – Children’s Services at the Y NSW, leading a $35 million portfolio of 50 services that supported more than 7,000 children each week. She is widely recognised for her ability to deliver strategic and operational success, strengthen safeguarding practices, and foster high-performing, inclusive teams.

Mel also contributes to the sector at a state level as a member of the NSW Department of Education Early Childhood Advisory Group and the Child Safety Working Group. These roles highlight her commitment to quality, inclusion, and child safety across early education and care.

Her appointment as Director of St Nicholas marks the next chapter in a career dedicated to advancing outcomes for children, families, and educators.
