As you may be aware, St Nicholas is currently in the process of transitioning our financial management system into Technology One (T1). T1 is the Diocese’s endorsed Enterprise Resource Solution (ERP), which enables a consistent approach to financial management and procurement across all agencies. For St Nicholas, T1 will provide a more structured platform to coordinate and manage our purchasing of resources, as well as other goods and services, processing of credit card statements and financial reporting across our network moving forward. The ‘go live’ date for the new system is 1 September 2023, with training to be rolled out to users throughout late July to mid August.
What are the benefits of the new system?
As part of the broader Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, the primary benefit of migrating into T1 is that all agencies will share the same financial system. This provides efficiencies for the Finance Team and Diocesan management in transaction processing and reporting across multiple agencies but also provides efficiencies at a centre/service level through the use of shared suppliers, improved record keeping and increased data transparency. St Nicholas employees who are users of the system will have improved reporting, be able to keep track of their purchases at a centre/service level, as well as take advantage of the buying power of the Diocese as a whole when selecting suppliers. Credit card acquittals will also become easier to manage through an online module.
Further updates and training for users will be provided as we move closer to the go live date but if you have any questions in the meantime you’re welcome to contact Brendan Clarke, Senior Finance Manager for St Nicholas – brendan.clarke@mn.catholic.org.au
