That’s why nutrition is woven into the fabric of our Early Education and OOSH services – not just through nourishing meals, but through meaningful learning experiences that help children understand the value of healthy choices.
Our teams provide balanced meals at key times throughout the day, while also embedding nutrition-focused education into play, exploration, and community engagement. From shared mealtimes that spark conversation to hands-on activities that connect children with their local food environments, nutrition is more than a subject – it’s a joyful, everyday part of growing and learning at St Nicholas.

St Nicholas is proud to share the second edition of our Cookbook and Cooking with Carl series.
This edition of our Cookbook includes a collection of quick, easy and healthy snack recipes thoughtfully contributed from our Centre Cooks. Taking into consideration common household ingredients, dietary requirements and time-sensitive steps, this Cookbook is filled with well-loved recipes often found at your local St Nick’s.
Carl Clarabut, Centre Cook and Mentor, St Nicholas Early Education Newcastle West, Aimee Lyle, Nominated Supervisor St Nicholas OOSH Gateshead and Ashlee Kleinschafer, Nominated Supervisor St Nicholas OOSH Lochinvar, worked together to create three recipes from the 2025 St Nicholas Cookbook.
