St Nicholas Early Education Lochinvar
Our Lochinvar learners kicked off each day of NAIDOC Week with an Acknowledgement of Country and yarning circle. The focus for their sensory and educational play experiences surrounded the symbolism and concepts within the dreamtime stories of Mimi Morraal, Baime the Great Spirit and The Rainbow Serpent.
On top of this, our preschool-aged learners visited St Patrick’s Primary School, Lochinvar, reconnecting with some of their friends who transitioned from St Nicholas Early Education to St Patrick’s. They enjoyed student performances and story time with the teaching staff.

Our Raymond Terrace learners each created a flame of commitment to learning about First Nations culture during NAIDOC Week and beyond. Through sensory and imaginative play and group time, they built their awareness and understanding of Indigenous artist styles, rituals and cultural practices.

Our Maitland learners explored Indigenous culture and practices through sensory play, exploring native animals, artistic symbolism, and natural elements.
St Nicholas Early Education Gillieston Heights
Our Gillieston Heights learners came together to appreciate and understand the unique heritage of Australia’s First Peoples, exploring these concepts through painting, dreamtime stories and sensory play. They learned about the importance of caring for our land, respecting our elders and celebrating diversity.
St Nicholas Early Education Cardiff
NAIDOC celebrations at St Nicholas Early Education Cardiff allowed our learners to creatively engage with the rich culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through lessons in traditional dancing, rock painting, and music making.
St Nicholas Early Education Branxton
Our Branxton learners embraced the teachings of NAIDOC with a range of enriching educational and developmental experiences focused on not only providing a cultural experience but also looking at developing fine and gross motor skills.
With a tracing and matching exercise, our little learners discovered the meanings behind several common symbols used by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to communicate.

NAIDOC Week at our Singleton centre involved hands-on creative learning tied to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, practices, and rituals. Engaging in a wide range of experiences, our learners explored the intricate symbolism, colours and appreciation for nature associated with Indigenous art and lifestyle.
