Meet Tegan and Mallory, our new Pedagogy team members

Meet the newest members of St Nicholas’ Pedagogy Team, Tegan and Mallory, including a bit about their background and what excites them about their new roles.

Meet Tegan

Hi everyone!

I’m Tegan, a new Pedagogical Coordinator with St Nicholas. I work in the Pedagogy team, alongside the wonderful Angie and Mallory!

Some fun facts about me:

  • I’m vegan! (Yes, “Tegan the Vegan”).

  • I have worked in the Early Education and Care Industry for around 18 years, predominantly with children aged 0-2.

  • I am a plant fanatic.

  • I have two rescue cats, Odette (Odie) and Francesca (Frankie).

  • You will find me either listening to a true crime podcast or watching a horror movie.

  • I love live music but have no musical talent myself.

  • Kindness is so important to me.

  • I love shark documentaries, but there isn’t enough money in the world that could pay me to swim with them.

  • I believe working with young children is such a privilege, and I’m excited to work with all of you to create some pedagogy magic! Seeing children as capable, competent individuals is crucial to me, and ensuring every child is respected and included is what drives me.

I pride myself on being friendly and approachable. I really encourage you to please ask me questions, lean on me, and reach out at any time.

I look forward to working with all of you!

– Tegan

Meet Mallory

Hello everyone,

I’m Mallory, one of the new Pedagogical Coordinators for St Nicholas, fortunate enough to work in Angie’s team alongside Tegan.

I’ve been in Early Education for over 10 years, working as an educator all the way up to being a Director of a large 126-place service. I’ve also been a Youth Worker and have worked with NSW Ambulance in the Control Centre for three and a half years.

Some of my favourite things include:

  • the beach

  • painting/drawing

  • plants

  • my 1-year-old niece and nephew (who have me wrapped around their fingers)

  • adventures with animals – so far I’ve swum with sharks and fed an alligator, and I’m excited to do more!

I believe every child deserves respect, a safe place, an opportunity to learn, and to be treated fairly. As an educator, I am passionate about inclusion, creating beautiful environments that promote delight and wonder, and supporting others to achieve their goals.

I’m also thrilled to work alongside everyone!
