We are delighted to introduce Sandy McNaughton as the Centre Director of St Nicholas Early Education Kotara South.
Sandy brings more than 27 years of experience in early education and care, with a career that spans a wide range of leadership and practice-based roles including Room Leader, Educational Leader, Assistant Director, and Centre Director. Most recently, Sandy spent 17 years at her previous service, where she developed a strong, values-led approach to education grounded in relationships, trust, and community connection.
Sandy is passionate about shaping St Nicholas Early Education Kotara South into a warm and welcoming learning community where children, families, educators, and the wider community feel genuinely connected. She is particularly excited to build strong relationships with St James’ Primary School, St Nicholas OOSH, and local community partners, recognising the important role these connections play in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and long-term growth.
“As educators and families, when we work together, wonderful things happen,” Sandy says. “Strong partnerships create the best foundations for children to feel secure, confident, and supported as they learn and grow.”
Sandy is also a parent to two sons aged 17 and 20, and understands firsthand the trust families place in their child’s early education service. As a full-time working parent, she knows how important it is for families to feel confident, reassured, and connected to the people caring for their children each day.
Outside of work, Sandy has a love for the creative arts and is a musician and songwriter. She enjoys playing guitar and sharing music with children, from fun and silly songs to a special Acknowledgement of Country song she has written, which reflects her commitment to respectful and meaningful learning experiences.
Sandy is currently leading the exciting work behind the scenes as Kotara South comes to life, preparing learning environments, and welcoming new team members. As this work continues, families will be kept informed about next steps and key milestones.
