‘I’ve attended the Self-Assessment Roadshow — now what?’

A resounding thank you to all who joined Adette from the Pedagogy Team for the recent Self-Assessment Roadshow! In just two months, Adette delivered 5 sessions, engaging nearly 60 educators and effectively reaching all St Nicholas Early Education centres and St Nicholas OOSH services.

This is a HUGE achievement!

When I started at St Nicholas less than 5 months ago, self-assessments were mostly blank and Adette was the singular source of knowledge for how to write a self-assessment.

Fast forward to now, we have created a self-assessment guide containing specific questions to assist our team, as well as the roadshow, which is full to the brim of practical examples for how to write a self-assessment that stands out for all the right reasons. Feedback from all attendees has been resoundingly positive. People are even sharing their excitement about creating dedicated time to work on their self-assessments.

This is a huge piece of the puzzle toward Assessment and Rating preparedness and success, and I want to take time to acknowledge this milestone.

Where to from here?

For the remainder of the year, we are hoping to continue to build momentum on the commitment to making self-assessment a living document that reflects the genuine strengths we see embedded within our services. We are going to start delivering regular drop-in sessions to give our teams targeted times to sit, collaborate and focus on getting words out of heads, off post-its and into the boxes.

Before we know it, the requirement to have self-assessments living in a live portal will be upon us, so our focus is to replace fear with excitement and, as always, we are here to support and guide wherever we can!
