Such roles fall within specific departments, with everyone working together to support our Early Education centres and OOSH services to provide ongoing quality education and care to our families.
St Nicholas, as an approved provider, has a legal obligation to ensure that its services comply with the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations. However, this legal obligation does not rest solely with the approved provider. Nominated Supervisors and educators must ensure that the day-to-day operations of their service comply with the above-referred National Law and National Regulations.
Quality Assurance utilises processes such as compliance audits to identify any compliance issues at our Early Education centres and OOSH services. This includes (but is not limited to) auditing children’s medical documentation and medication, staffing documentation, identifying safety risks and observing daily practices such as sleep checks and head counts. Services should expect regular compliance visits from either one of the Quality Assurance Coordinators. We understand that both scheduled and unscheduled visits can be cause for concern for services, however, rest assured, we are here to support you.
Behind the scenes, Quality Assurance works together to establish processes and create tools and documents that services utilise to ensure compliance is maintained. When we ‘roll out’ anything new, or bring in changes to existing processes, we provide training and education, which may be provided via written materials, service-based visits, or via meetings both online and face-to-face (e.g., Director/Nominated Supervisor meetings). Staff may also request further assistance with compliance should they feel it is required.
