St Nicholas OOSH’s Vacation Care programs offer a variety of engaging experiences during school holidays. Each day, children encounter a new adventure and a new theme.

Day camps allow children to participate in meaningful and enjoyable experiences in a safe and familiar setting onsite at the service, excursions allow children to explore different environments and experiences within their local communities, and incursions see the fun come to us, with professionals visiting the service to provide a performance, lesson or experience.

Day Camps

Our vacation care programs provide fun, enriching activities for children aged 5–12 onsite at our services:

Creative arts and crafts: Encourage imagination and self-expression with hands-on art and craft activities suitable for all ages.

Themed days: Experience fun and engaging days like Heroes and Villains Day, cultural celebrations, and more, where children explore new adventures and learn about the world around them.

STEM: Introduce children to science, technology, engineering, and math through fun, hands-on activities and challenges.

Physical activities and sports: Keep kids active with team sports, games, and fitness challenges designed for fun and development.

Mindfulness and wellbeing: Incorporate yoga, relaxation exercises, and storytelling for a balanced, calming experience during their day.

Incursions

Our vacation care services host professional facilitators and engaging programs to create unforgettable experiences:

Interactive animal encounters: Children can learn about animals through hands-on sessions with wildlife experts.

Live performances: Enjoy live entertainment, including theatre, music, or dance performances that captivate and inspire children.

Sports workshops: Engage children in fun and skill-building sports workshops, helping them develop teamwork and fitness.

Science experiments: Spark curiosity with hands-on science experiments and demonstrations that engage young minds.

Gaming and technology installations: Introduce children to interactive gaming and technology installations, combining fun with problem-solving.

Excursions

Our vacation care programs also include exciting outings to explore the local community:

Museum visits: Explore local museums, where children can engage with history, science, and culture through interactive exhibits.

Entertainment centres: Enjoy action-packed fun at local entertainment centres, including activities like mini-golf, laser tag, and arcade games.

Movies: Take in a family-friendly movie at the local cinema, offering entertainment and a chance to relax and enjoy together.

Cultural visits: Immerse children in cultural experiences, including visits to local landmarks and cultural centres to learn about diverse traditions and history.

Adventure parks: Get active with excursions to adventure parks, offering rock climbing, zip lines, and obstacle courses for children to challenge themselves and develop physical skills.

What to bring to vacation care

Vacation Care attendees are asked to bring the following weather appropriate items:

Wide-brimmed hat – School hats are usually best. Children will be required to wear a hat when outside. Sunscreen is provided and routinely applied as per our Sun Protection Policy. If your child is sensitive to standard broad-spectrum 30+ sunscreen, please provide appropriate sunscreen clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Lunch – OOSH staff are not able to heat or cook food. Please ensure anything sent can be eaten straight from their lunch box. Our services are nut-free zones.
Enclosed shoes must be worn, such as joggers or sneakers.
Refillable water bottle.
Spare set of clothes for water based activities or in case of an accident or excessive mess.
Jumper or jacket.

Please note:

Submitting a booking request or enquiry does not constitute a confirmed booking. No booking is confirmed until you have received email confirmation from St Nicholas.
For casual and Vacation Care bookings, we have a 5-day cancellation policy, after which the parent/carer will be liable for their full fees for that session. For permanent bookings, we have a 2-week cancellation policy.
One-off cancellations for permanent bookings still require the parent/carer to pay their full fees for that session, unless the cancellation is permanent, in which case the family will forfeit their permanent place for that session.
