St Nicholas Early Education Newcastle West and their supportive families have reason to celebrate as they recently organised a remarkable fundraising event, the Biggest Morning Tea, which exceeded all expectations. The generosity of families and the dedication of the centre’s educators and children helped raise an impressive $1,013 for Cancer Council NSW. This outstanding contribution will go towards funding essential support groups and vital research projects, making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

The success of the event is a testament to the strong sense of community that thrives at St Nicholas Newcastle West. Families and staff came together to support a cause that affects millions of lives worldwide. With enthusiasm and unwavering determination, they organised a morning tea extravaganza that showcased not only their fundraising prowess but also their commitment to making a positive impact.

The centre’s educators and children played a vital role in the event’s success. Throughout the week, they poured their creativity and energy into crafting delightful morning tea treats for sale. The children eagerly participated in the initiative by helping to cover the costs of the treats, allowing them to take home their own delicious creations or enjoy them on the spot, perhaps with a touch of mischief and a lot of smiles.

In a fun and educational twist, the educators also used the event as an opportunity to introduce the children to the concept of money. Using pretend currency, the young participants purchased their own morning tea snacks, building important skills while engaging in a charitable cause. The warm sunshine provided the perfect backdrop as the children relished their treats, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories with their friends that will endure for a lifetime.

St Nicholas Early Education Newcastle West, its families, educators and children have demonstrated their commitment to fostering a spirit of compassion and unity. By raising over $1,000, they have not only made a positive impact within their own community but have extended their support to those beyond their immediate surroundings. Their dedication to the fight against cancer serves as an inspiration to us all.

Congratulations once again to the Newcastle West centre community for their outstanding achievement. Together, they have proven that when united for a common cause, even the smallest actions can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

We would also like to congratulate our Maitland centre, who held their own Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser, raising a total of $323 for Cancer Council NSW.
