December 2023 Update from Erica Wilkinson, Executive Manager – Professional Learning

Erica Wilkinson reflects on what’s been going on in the Pathways space in 2023, including a record intake of Early Childhood Immersion and School-Based Traineeship (SBAT) students, St Nicholas’ first-ever staff conference and more.

It feels like it was just the beginning of 2023. What a year it’s been! We are so grateful for the support of St Nicholas services in Early Education and OOSH because without you, our programs would not have had the success they’ve had this year. We supported the first joint St Nicholas staff conference, ‘Reconnect’, which was a great opportunity to share learning in a great environment. We have seen record numbers through our Immersion program and applicants for our SBAT program. The feedback regarding our new SBATs has been so positive, and we are delighted that they are settling in so well. We are very happy to welcome them all to the St Nicholas Team.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the team here at Pathways – Carolyn, Karina, Jess, Rachel and Keely. They work extremely hard and are so passionate about what they do, building relationships and supporting all our students and services in their study and learning. I am very lucky to have you all as part of this team!

We have great plans for the next twelve months and will have a significant focus next year on professional learning for all St Nicholas team members, with face-to-face and online options on varying topics. We will also be focusing on the development of a program for our Early Childhood Teachers as part of supporting their NESA requirements.

The Pathways team wishes all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing you all in 2024.
