The roles

Centre Directors are responsible for leading early education centres and their teams, ensuring the highest standards of education and care, developing educational programs, promoting continuous improvement, creating a safe and engaging environment, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Assistant Directors support the daily operations of the centre, focusing on educational quality and operational efficiency, developing programs, managing communications with families and team members, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and leading in the Director’s absence.

Skills and experience

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in same role
  • Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedures, curriculum development, family and community liaison, and team member professional learning
  • Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of services requirements of the CCSS (Child Care Subsidy System) and ability to perform software application for compliance
  • Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully support the Early Learning Years Framework with the centre curriculum
  • Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an early education centre.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Children’s Services or Degree in Early Childhood Teaching as identified by Australian Children’s Education and care Authority
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training
  • Working with Children Check verification number
  • DEC approved child protection training certificate.
